Electrical Innovation The energy required to power the unit is drawn from two sources. One is from shore power or a much smaller Genset (both 240V AC) when the boat is not under steam. The advantage of this is that the Combi system converts the single-phase AC power into DC power, which then drives our high-efficiency brushless motors via the Controller. This effectively works like a 3-phase AC motor with speed control, current protection, overload protection and other functions. The DC brushless motors are typically less than half the size of conventional ones. The second source is the hydraulic power generated by the propulsion engine's PTO (Power Take Off). |

Combi Controller The Combi Controller monitors all functions of the Combi motor, controls the pressure of the air conditioning compressor and also manages the high pressure deck wash and the desalinator. It also monitors all temperatures and provides current overload- and over-temperature protection. |
